Hello,
I'm Heather!
Welcome! I am a Registered Social Worker with nearly 15 years experiencing, offering compassionate and grounded support for individuals and couples navigating anxiety, depression and relationship challenges.
My Approach
My therapeutic style is warm, collaborative and grounded in compassion and curiosity. I meet clients where they are - emotionally, mentally and situationally - creating a safe, supportive space for healing at a pace that feels right for you. And, while I bring deep empathy to my work, I'm also willing to gently point out when certain patterns might be standing in your way - always with kindness, respect, and a touch of lightheartedness.
I draw from a blend of evidence-based approaches, including CBT, DBT, ACT and Narrative Therapy. This flexible, client-centred framework allows me to tailor our work to your unique needs - whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, trauma or life transitions.
I also incorporate gentle psychoeducation about the nervous system to help you better understand the biological roots of your emotions and responses. With this knowledge, we can build practical, empowering tools to support lasting emotional wellness.
I am trained in offering EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) - a trauma-informed therapy that helps reprocess distressing memories and reduce their emotional charge.
In addition to individuals, I work with couples using the Gottman Method, offering a compassionate, emotionally attuned space to improve communication, rebuild trust, and deepen connection.

I also work with children and parents and am passionate about providing support to parents at any stage of their parenting journey.

I have significant experience working with folks who are neurodivergent or parenting children with neurodivergence.

Beginning therapy is a brave step. I'm honoured to support clients as they move toward greater clarity, resilience, and self-understanding. I'm looking forward to beginning our work together!
